David is a managing member of the Firm. In his real estate practice, David assists clients with a full range of commercial real estate transactions. He has represented clients on all sides of real estate transactions, including owners, developers, landlords, tenants, borrowers, lenders, contractors, brokers, and property managers.

David's experience spans a broad range of properties – shopping centers, office buildings, industrial properties, mixed-use developments, multi-family buildings, condominiums, self-storage, hotels, houses and vacant land. 

Some of his recent work includes the following:

 

• Representing parties in the acquisition, sale, leasing and financing of property, including the preparation and negotiations of agreements of sale, reviewing title issues, and reviewing and negotiating loan documents

• Preparation of commercial leases for retail, industrial, and office for both landlord and tenant

• Preparation and negotiation of loan documents

• Preparation of easements

• Formation of corporations, partnerships and limited liability companies

• Representing clients in completing 1031 transactions

• Preparing conveyance documents, including deeds, easements and declarations of covenants

 

One of David's clients won Dunkin's Franchisee of the Year award and another was recently awarded Popeye's Franchisee of the Year.

 

In the area of real estate investments, David has a strong background in advising clients on syndications and similar complex investment structures. His recent transactions include syndication purchases of retail, office, self-storage, and multi-family properties as well as single tenant leasing and purchase of hundreds of restaurant locations throughout the Midwest.

 

Honors & Awards

David was a Co-Chair of the Real Estate Department at Shaw Fishman Glantz & Towbin LLC, which merged with Fox Rothschild LLP in 2018.

 

David is a former President and is on the Board of Directors of the Chicago Real Estate Council, which has been providing educational and networking opportunities to real estate professionals in the Chicago area for more than 50 years.
